WHAT TO EXPECT AT AXE YARD

It can be daunting to walk into a room and be told you’ll be throwing axes for 60 minutes. We’ve taken a lot of care to create an experience that is safe, fun & unique.

All throwers in a group have their own dedicated space, which is a cage with a single target allowing for a more focused and personalised axe-throwing experience.This setup enhances safety and provides a sense of autonomy, enabling throwers to run their session their way!

A single cage & target for 2 to 4 throwers in your booking means you won’t share your target with anyone outside your group. (5 to 8 players will have 2 targets etc)

SAFETY FIRST

Whether it’s your first time or you’re coming back to Axe Yard/Prison Island for another fun day out, we always kick off with a safety briefing with one of our friendly staff. It’s also your chance to ask any questions so you can feel comfortable as gameplay starts.

PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT

Throwers will have plenty of time to warm up and get comfortable throwing. We cater for first timers through to those with a little more experience, either way we will teach you all you need to know. Once you’re throwing comfortably it’s up to you how to run the session.

GAME TIME

With your cage table, you can select from 12 unique games, each offering a different challenge. Games include ‘21’, Exey Ozeys, Hostage, the nostalgic game of ‘Connect Four’, and even a quiz game which allows throwers to showcase their general knowledge and throwing skills at the same time – now that’s a sure way to impress a first date. Our games cater to all skill levels, with easy to follow instructions. After all, this isn’t the usual axe throwing – THIS IS AXE YARD!

PRICING & SCHEDULE

All sessions offer 60 Minutes of throwing.

It is £44 for a 2 thrower ticket, with additional throwers at £22pp

We have a discounted group package of £160 for groups of 8, with additional throwers at £20pp

Is Axe Yard suitable for groups?

Yes – it’s a great group activity. We have four separate lanes and typically pop groups in pairs so everyone can rotate and get enough throws in.

What is the age limit for axe throwing?

It’s for adults only, so you must be over 18. Please ensure you have I.D and take it as a compliment if we ask for it!

What safety measures are in place for axe throwing?

Safe axe throwing is best. That’s why we provide a full briefing before you start, with each lane having a dedicated expert coach on hand to keep everyone safe. They’ll teach you the proper technique and provide you with tips to ensure you’re having fun in a safe manner.

What are the opening hours?

What is the dress code?

You’ll be throwing and moving a good bit, so wear something you’re comfortable in.

Because you’re using real axes, we have a strict NO OPEN TOES rule in place, so stick to the flats (and remind everyone in the group chat in advance too)
