Not quite! The Prison Island Challenge Cells are not like any Escape Room. We share some similarities with escape rooms but there’s a twist, instead of one room you have access to all 31 different challenges cells. Think along the lines of lots of escape puzzle rooms with each challenge lasting less than 5 mins. You move freely in the prison and choose any cell in any order, you are never locked in a room and can attempt the cells as many times as you wish. Your team will face a fantastic mix of physical, mental and skill based challenges!
With your team, your objective is to obtain the highest score possible within your paid game time. If you are part of a larger group, you can compare the scores between you and award prizes if you wish. Otherwise you can compare your score vs others on the Leader board. Each team receives a printout of their score at the end.
No – The Prison Island Challenge Cells are for everyone. As there are various skills (physical, tactical, technical), each member of a team will participate according to their desires and abilities. The idea is to work together as a team and decide together on the best way to complete the challenges. If some challenges are a little more physical than you’d like, you can of course guide, support and encourage your team mates!
For an Exclusive use booking we can cater for up to 100 people at a time. You will be split into smaller teams of up to 4 players.
It is possible to to have larger groups and rotate across all of our 4 Activities.
The Prison Island Challenges are designed to work best in teams of 2 to 4 players. It is possible to play as a team of 5 however depending in the challenge 1 of the players in some of the rooms may not have as much of a role to play. They can of course, guide, support and encourage their team mates! For bigger groups we will split you into 2 teams, adding an incredible element of competition.
We currently have 31 different Prison themed Challenges, each completely unique and exciting. When you book with us you will have access to all of our cells until your paid game time ends. Even when your time ends you will have a option to Top Up by 30mins since its so much fun!
In 1 hour you should expect to attempt around 17 challenges

Outside every cell the number of points available and a brief description of the skills required to pass the challenge is clearly displayed.
A Blue flashing light in the cell will indicate you have passed. A Red flashing light indicates you have failed however you can always try again.
You can play each game as many times as you like within your booking time. Take on the same game multiple times to try and beat a previous score.

It will take between 2-5 minutes depending on the cell. You a free to retry the same challenge as many times as you wish in order to achieve your highest score. The games in the cells are great fun and we know you will play many more than once!
If a cell is in use you will see a red notification light outside. Once the cell is available again the light will turn green allowing you to enter. There are always more cells available to play than teams playing.
Yes, we recommend a minimum age of 9 for teams that will play without an adult. For Family teams you can of course bring younger children who you can provide assistance to. We recommend the challenges as suitable for ages 6+ for families.
For Prison Island U16 Birthday Parties the Minimum age is 9. Should there be any younger players ( 6 to 8yrs old) then an adult should purchase a ticket and be part of that team.
We’ve not had any player over 100 that we know of however we’ve had people celebrating birthday in their 70’s!
- Almost anyone can enjoy our challenge cells
- Languages: All of the challenge instructions & clues are in English.
- Wheelchair users and people with reduced mobility: A number of the challenges may not be suitable because they involve moving quickly, climbing, crawling and operating in restricted spaces. Of the 31 Prison Island Challenges a number of them can be accessed easily, some others provide a limited chance to manoeuvre. Approximately 21 of the 31 would be playable with around 27 accessible in a wheelchair. With most teams completing around 13 to 18 challenges in 1hr we can certainly entertain you! Our reception, toilets and café are of course fully accessible.
- Pregnancy: Many of the Prison Challenges are suitable, but some involve crawling, jumping, or physical exertion. You can use your own judgement as you go. Players are welcome to direct their team mates in these cells. You will still be part of the experience and your team can still earn points without you physically participating in every challenge.
- Visually Impaired: A number of the challenges are purely visual. Other team members should have good eyesight to assist.
- Claustrophobia: Cells named The Prison and Devils Island may not be suitable for you.
- Vertigo: The Cell Tilt may not be suitable for you.
