The Most Adventurous Stag Do Activity in Belfast

The Most Adventurous Stag Do Activity in Belfast

Last updated on December 3rd, 2025 at 11:18 am

Any proper Belfast stag do has to tick a few essentials off the list — a few pints, a good feed, and a plan for the morning after when only a fry in a Belfast bap will save you.
But if you’re the one who’s been handed the job of planning the stag activities, and you’re sick of sweating in a jumpsuit while go-karting, can’t stand another afternoon shivering on a beer bike, or can’t be bothered with post-paintball bruises, Prison Island Belfast | Multi-Activity Venue has more than a few tricks up our sleeve.
Ever had a stag where the groom ends up behind bars? Now’s your chance. (Don’t worry — nobody’s actually locked in.)

Stress-Free Planning For Any Stag Do

Will the best man in charge of the stag do budget please stand up? We know that juggling prices about and getting everyone sorted to pay can be a headache when loads of activities have different prices. At Prison Island, we keep it simple so you can focus on the craic, not the chaos.

Why we’re one of Belfast’s Top-Rated Stag Do Activities

4 Activities – 1 Roof. Prison Island is all about giving groups the best time possible. We find that stag dos have more craic when they double up on activities, opting for something that matches their group vibe, which is why we offer the following for a one-of-a-kind experience:

  1. Prison Island – The OG
There’s a reason we are consistently featured among TripAdvisor’s top activities in NI. We’re bringing new energy to what we call “an Escape Room…but Better!”.
You venture into the prison in groups, taking on challenges behind locked doors (one team at a time), competing to get the most points. Think of it like The Crystal Maze taken up about 10 levels in terms of gameplay and fun.
Our Stag Do Extra Time Package is the most popular — an hour and a half inside the Prison, giving the lads plenty of time to rack up points, get competitive, and settle a few scores.
We also offer the 1-hour option: short, sharp, and intense — perfect if you’re squeezing a lot into the day.
One of the funniest parts of any stag booking at Prison Island Belfast is The Wheel of Privilege.
Every stag gets one chance to spin the wheel and claim a FREE prize — and it can go very well… or absolutely terribly.
You might land on:
• Alcohol drinks for the stag after the session
• A bonus prize for the whole group
• Vouchers to return
• Or a booby prize that the lads will not let him forget
  1. Axe Yard – Real Axes. Really Good Craic
Axe throwing at stag dos is really common. If you’ve ever done it in a space where you know the target board has seen better days, you’ve not experienced it like Axe Yard does it. We got bored of looking at the same old axes and boring targets & decided to completely upgrade it, creating a fully interactive axe-throwing experience upstairs. It has digital games you throw real axes at & 0% drink offers available.
18+ only, and closed-toe shoes required — no alcohol to be consumed before throwing, but there’s plenty of time after!
  1. Quiz Boxing – Delivering a Knowledgeable KO
Are there a few in the group who live for game shows, shout answers at the telly, or secretly reckon they’d clean up on The Chase?
See how they cope when they’re face-to-face in our Quiz Boxing arena.
With pro-level lighting, dramatic music, podiums, buzzers, and quizzes ranging from our pre-loaded rounds to the highly embarrassing questions you can submit, we drop you straight into a full TV-show setup — only this time you’re competing against your own mates.
If you’re adding Quiz Boxing, you’ll also get a FREE personalised round built around the groom and the group. Ideal for a bit of slagging… Perfect for winding him up without going overboard.
It’s unique, ridiculously competitive, and guaranteed to be one of the biggest laughs of the weekend.
Plus, you get to leave saying you quizzed in a cage.
  1. ThinkBox: The Ultimate Mind-Bending Challenge

Best suited for stag dos that love a Wordle, know what the symbols on Only Connect are, and know they’d boss an escape room in record time, ThinkBox has 12 distinct boxes, each housing a labyrinth of 80 locks. It’s a unique puzzle challenge where teams race against time to collect tokens and earn points. Learn more about booking in for ThinkBox here.

You can bundle all the activities you want together. When you book your first, you’ll be given the option to have additional stag do activities as part of a bigger session, like this:

What Your Prison Island Visit Looks Like
You’ll be in and ready to go in no time. At reception, we’ll brief the group, split everyone into teams of 2–4, and fire off a few mugshot photos for the craic. Each team gets tagged, and any contraband goes straight into the free lockers provided. If you’re flying in and hitting Prison Island Belfast before checking into your accommodation, there’s plenty of space to leave bags safely in the locker area.
Once you’re inside the prison, you can dive into the 31 challenge cells in any order you like. The goal? Rack up as many points as possible before your sentence is up. A real-time live leaderboard shows every team’s score — complete with your chosen team names — so you’ll know exactly who you need to beat. And as the clock ticks down and the points climb, trust us… the competitiveness ramps up fast. You’ll be doing everything you can to walk out as the winners. Lots of stags will book activities back-to-back (more on that below), but to get started, just click right here. Pick a date and you’ll see the packages. If you need any help, give us a quick call on 02890 380862.

Top Reasons to Book a Stag Do Activity with Prison Island

We think we offer an experience that can’t be matched anywhere else in Belfast, that works amazingly for stag parties because:

  • Instant bonding – When the stag group is a mix of work mates, childhood friends, cousins and the “I’ve-no-idea-who-he-is” lad, our challenges break the ice fast. Within minutes everyone’s laughing, shouting, and actually getting to know each other.
  • Something for everyone – Stag dos are always a mixed bag. That’s why our activities vary and allow for all types of Stag go-ers to enjoy. No matter the vibe or fitness level, everyone finds something they’re deadly at.
You get to enjoy it too – The worst thing is the best man running around stressed, trying to keep the day on track. Once you walk through the door, we take over. You relax, we handle the flow, and you get to actually enjoy the stag — not manage it.
And when hunger hits, grab fresh, hot pizzas straight from our café — perfect for refuelling after all that competition and craic. The best bit? You don’t even need to leave the building. Everything’s here — food, games, and pure Belfast banter. Bring the lads, float between the activities, and make a full day of it under one roof. So, if you’re looking for stag do ideas in Belfast that go beyond the usual, get the group chat going, round up the lads, and get ready for a day of pure chaos, craic, and stories that’ll follow you right into the best man’s speech.

Everything else you need to know about having a stag do at Prison Island

What stag do packages are available at Prison Island?
We have five stag packages available. One across each activity, as well as two different lengths of time to play in the prison.

All activities across the venue come in 1-hour & 1.5-hour sessions. As mentioned above, you can double up to go back-to-back. If you have 10 or more in your stag group, we throw in a gift for one lucky player, and choose Quiz Boxing, we’ll throw in a free personalised round.

Can I customise the Prison Island stag do package?
If you need to make any adjustments or want a special add-on, just give us a quick call and we’ll be happy to help.

What happens if I have less than 10 in the stag?
If your stag group is under 10, that’s no problem at all. Just let us know when you’re booking and we’ll make sure it still feels every bit like a proper stag party. We’re a family-run business, so we look after you — big group or small crowd, we’ll set the tone and make sure the groom-to-be gets the full experience.

How many can fit in Prison Island?
2 – 100 players
Prison Island is our most popular stag activity because it works for any group size — from a small crew of mates right up to huge stag parties. We split large groups into teams of four, where possible, and you all race around 31 challenge rooms collecting points.
It’s fast, competitive, and an unreal laugh — especially when the teams start trying to beat each other’s scores.

How many can fit in Quiz Boxing?
Minimum 4 Players / Up to 36 Across Two Arenas
Quiz Boxing is one of the best stag activities in Belfast if you’re after big energy and a bit of friendly chaos.
We have two arenas, and the game works best with around 6-24 players, but we can comfortably take up to 36.
If you bring a bigger group, we simply split you across both arenas — it just gets a bit more chaotic (in a fun way), with more podiums, more buzzers, and a lot more shouting.
Perfect for lads who like competition, laughs, and taking home the title!

How many can fit in Axe Yard Interactive Axe Throwing?
2-25 players
Axe Throwing is a brilliant stag activity for anyone who wants something a bit different. We can take up to 25 players across our interactive lanes.
Everyone must be 18+ and no alcohol beforehand, but don’t worry — there’s plenty of time for pints after you’re crowned champion.

How many can fit in Think Box?
2-30 players
ThinkBox is perfect for puzzle-loving stags or groups that want something totally unique.
We can take up to 30 players, split into teams of two to four, racing through 12 physical puzzle boxes and up to 80 locks.
It’s intense, clever, surprisingly funny — and brilliant for lads who love a good conundrum

Are there any age restrictions?
Prison Island and Quiz Boxing is suitable for anyone aged 9+, with Think Box recommended age starting 12 years old. So if you’re doing more of an inclusive pre-wedding family activity, bring the Fam! If your stag party is booking for Axe Yard, it is strictly an 18+ activity as we use real axes, kids are not allowed to throw but can spectate.

What does a stag group need to wear at Prison Island Belfast | Multi-Activity Venue?
We’re not saying come in your gym gear, but know that you’ll be whizzing around the venue. Comfy clothes are a must. You’ll probably all have packed trainers anyway, so wear them. If you are block-booking to do Axe Yard as well, just make sure everyone is wearing appropriate footwear (i.e. no mules, Crocs, Birkenstocks, open-toe shoes around the axes, this includes no heels if that’s how you roll).
