Just What You’ve All Been Waiting For: 6 New Challenge cells – NOW OPEN

As we eagerly approach our fourth birthday, we’ve been reflecting on the incredible journey we’ve been on. We’ve had so much fun with you all – and we are only getting started!

Just when you thought you’d mastered our cells! Think again!

We are thrilled to announce the arrival of 6 NEW CHALLENGES that will push the boundaries of what you thought was possible. It’s time to set the bar higher and show everyone what you are really made of – with 31 CHALLENGE CELLS!

‘Less is more’

We have to disagree. At Prison Island Belfast – more is more, and we have plenty of new and exciting elements of game play for everyone! Whether you’re searching for things to do in Belfast, team building activities Belfast, or even where can I celebrate my birthday – it has to be Prison Island!

We’ve improved some of our well-known cells too! Our Music cell has been kitted out with a new speaker to ensure optimal focus, we’ve added more balls to Basket for teams of 4, as well as installing extra foot grips in Cliffhanger. We have new ropes and foot grips in Devils Island too! Extra points for teams who can spot any new art installations. And you may notice, we have extended our cafe area for our group’s comfort, allowing space for a hangout area before and after your experience! You asked – we delivered.

A massive shout out to the Prison Island team who worked tirelessly throughout the nights to handmake, install, and paint these incredible challenge cells. With new state of the art technology, and some well-known games as core influences to the new challenges, like Whack-a-mole and Snake, teams will feel a sense of nostalgia playing these in a new and improved way!

So, who chooses the cells? We do! But how? 

Offering an unforgettable experience to our players is at the heart of everything we do, we aim to make sure we can still offer a top-class activity for 2 players, 3 and 4. We also take into consideration how many players are needed for max points, the mix of skill sets needed, as well as how many cells are physical, mental and skill based. We aim to be an inclusive venue, therefore, where possible we have left room in some cells for wheelchair access.

And who tests them first? – Our staff of course!

The GUARDS battled with each other in a 30-minute showdown, split into teams of 3, they were the first to scan into the new cells. Who better to set the bar than our unbelievable team who are now armed with all the answers to any questions our players may have. We buzz over watching our team enjoy working with us- overhearing ‘this is CLASS!’ and ‘I love my jobbbbb!’ made our new project all worth it.

Increased availability – Oh Yes! 

We always have more rooms than teams playing for free movement throughout – after all, if a challenge isn’t for you, teams should be free to leave and try out another without waiting. Our capacity for exclusive use groups is now increased from 80 – 100!

How long should players book for? 

We offer:

1 HOUR EXPERIENCE – SHORT BUT INTENSE – Expect to play 17 out of 31 CELLS

1.5 HOUR EXPERIENCE – You should make it through 25 OUT OF 31 CELLS

2 HOUR EXPERIENCE – Beat The bars and take on all 31 CHALLENGES

2.5 HOUR EXPERIENCE – Take on all 31 CHALLENGES and repeat the most ADDICTIVE ONES IN YOUR MISSION TO MAKE YOUR MARK ON OUR LEADERBOARD!
